Memory Quilts
Do you have baby clothes lying around that your son or daughter has grown out of and don't want to give them up? Or do you have old band t-shirts you don't wear anymore? Well, if you don't want to get rid of these good memories why not make a quilt out of them to always remember? I came across this site called Ticche and bea where you can purchase a memory quilt kit or baby clothes quilt kit. Each kit comes with pre-cut fabric squares, batting, a quilt back, safety pins, straight pins, a cutting template, and very specific directions on how to create your quilt. If you get stuck and need some help you can even mail them the quilt you started to have them finish it for you. Or if you aren't very savvy at sewing you can send away your shirts pre-cut and have them create it for you.
This is such a great idea for a gift or preserving a memory. My sister just had a baby recently and received tons of baby clothes I'm sure within a year or so the baby will grow out of those infant clothes all they'll just be lying around. This would be a great gift to create and give to a child when they get a little older. If she doesn't plan on having anymore kids and won't be able to use the clothes anymore. The pricing is pretty inexpensive and well worth it. I wish I had kept my old band t-shirts to make one of these quilts.
