Memory Quilts

Do you have baby clothes lying around that your son or daughter has grown out of and don't want to give them up? Or do you have old band t-shirts you don't wear anymore? Well, if you don't want to get rid of these good memories why not make a quilt out of them to always remember? I came across this site called Ticche and bea where you can purchase a memory quilt kit or baby clothes quilt kit. Each kit comes with pre-cut fabric squares, batting, a quilt back, safety pins, straight pins, a cutting template, and very specific directions on how to create your quilt. If you get stuck and need some help you can even mail them the quilt you started to have them finish it for you. Or if you aren't very savvy at sewing you can send away your shirts pre-cut and have them create it for you.

This is such a great idea for a gift or preserving a memory. My sister just had a baby recently and received tons of baby clothes I'm sure within a year or so the baby will grow out of those infant clothes all they'll just be lying around. This would be a great gift to create and give to a child when they get a little older. If she doesn't plan on having anymore kids and won't be able to use the clothes anymore. The pricing is pretty inexpensive and well worth it. I wish I had kept my old band t-shirts to make one of these quilts.

Little Handbag

I crocheted this little handbag the other day from a pattern in the Stitch N' Bitch book. I love the patterns in that book they are pretty up do date. This handbag was pretty easy, I finished it in a day. The flowers were a little hard at first but I eventually go the hang of it. I think this would make a cute makeup bag or a summery evening purse. I made it so you can switch out the flowers if the colors don't go with your outfit.

Photo Wall Decoration

Found this great, easy and cheap way to display your pictures through a photojojo tutorial. All you need are a bunch of bulldog clips or binder clips, hammer, nails or thumbtacks. I like taking pictures and this is a great way to display them and be able to switch them out easily! It may even look cool if you put the binder clips on a bulletin board to give it a different background.

Make your own Repeated Pattern

On the Curbly website, I found this really cool way to make your own handmade repeated pattern. I've tried making these before and I end up drawing the whole entire thing, didn't think of cutting and taping together. Such an easy concept. After you finish cutting and taping the pattern you could scan it and color it in photoshop.

Wall Hanger Decoration

Found a really cute way to add a little decoration to those wall hangers that stick out, on the Trans-craft-inental blog. A week ago I was helping my sister decorate her baby's room and we were using those same wall hangers as in this link. We decided not to use them cause they were visible and didn't look so good. With some colored ribbon we could've hid the nails. I'll have to use this trick next time.
