Happy Fourth of July everyone! Here is a last minute 4th of July decoration
tutorial I found through the
Make and Takes website on how to dye white carnations red and blue. I never really knew exactly how to change the color and all you need is some food coloring. The patriotic red and blue food coloring in the water looks pretty. It apparently only takes a few hours for the color to show up so hurry up!

I had forgotten about this trick. I is a fabulous way of decorating and matching colors.
I remember doing this as a kid! We also did it with celery.
We used to do this as kids with wildflowers, especially white Queen Anne's Lace. It soaks up the color really well. Thanks for reminding me!
this is really pretty and simple. I love colored water. I have some candles that float on the surface in some vases...I think it's called H20 candles.
